Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about lessons, scheduling, instruments, and more.

Getting Started

For beginners, we recommend practicing at least 30 minutes a day. Intermediate students should aim for an hour or more, while advanced students may benefit from two or more hours of daily practice.

Students will need music books and sheet music for lessons, as well as a metronome and music stand for effective practice. Music books can be purchased from local music shops or online retailers. Some sheet music is also available online and can be downloaded and printed for convenience.

No prior experience is needed at all. We help guide your music journey from the beginning.

Lessons & Scheduling

We primarily teach classical violin, which builds the strongest technical foundation.

Currently we only offer online lessons through zoom.

Yes, lessons can be rescheduled. Please try to notify us one day in advance.

Instruments

Not at all. We can guide you through renting or purchasing the right instrument before your first lesson.

The correct size depends on the student's arm length. Younger students might have sizes 2/4 or 3/4, while ages 12+ usually can play on a 4/4 size violin

For a beginner, well set up violins usually cost around $250 - $400. Avoid very cheap instruments — they tend to have a lot of problems and be almost unplayable.
